Hymalayan balsam is a recognised non-native invasive species. Whilst very attractive and a favourite of our bees, it will quickly take over an area, smoothering nearly everything in its path. The volunteers regulary undertake clearance work to help improve the biodiversity in the wood.Long sleeved shirts and gloves, plus loads of insect repellant are essential for those of us who attractive to the mozzies!
